Reblog

I have been inspired to reblog by Bec who has managed to recover "Life According To..." from some blogger abyss and is now, much to my delight, posting regularly. I have narcissism issues with blogging and they have prevented me from writing meaningless posts about my seemingly meaningless life for a while. However, I love to write and this seems like a good place to do it, even if it means making my thoughts and my life reading material for everyone who bothers to read. I have to somehow convince myself that I am not doing this for my ego, rather for fun, for writing practice and for lots of other altruistic reasons :)

How would it be feeding your ego if you are sharing what others are hoping to find out.

I have often struggled with the justifying my blogging entries and why I wrote what I right, why share personal details/events/emotions. IS there a difference between writing a book/poetry or a song? All can be fiction or based on fact or opinion, all involve emotion and are intimate with the author. All involve readers and listeners. Whether they continue to listen and read is another thing all together.

It is quite obvious we both have come to points in our blogs where we are no longer reporting on events that we are involved in together (eg Fantastic Fulda anti education fees riots and elephants with roller skates).

However, I am sure (I guess this is where the ego comes into it) your are curious to know what I am thinking and doing, as I am you. How about the writing of a letter/email? But the genre is different. A email/letter is personal where as the blog is not open to anyone. My writing style is different, and I like this style. In a blog I say what I want, and was a form of socialising amongst us. It does not matter if I am in Fulda, Wherearewe, or Sydney. We made blogs so we could comment on them and in a way show off with things that would inspire interaction. Where is the ego in that? Its there in everyday life.

AS for me, I really enjoy reading your writing. I think you have a great voice. As for mine, we all know, that well no one can compete with that kind of talent *cough* and a child prodigy *cough*.

I am looking forward to a reinvigorated bloggery. Thanks for the comment and the mention in your post! Miss you mate.

PS what are you plans for Summer?

I am also glad that you have re-started your blog. It means that I can check up on what you are doing!! Only kidding, but it is nice to have you back Lu. And also - of course - to catch up with Becs and our meaningful conversations about the elephant. How could I have forgotten him? Anyone know whose flat he is living above now??
