Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea

What a beautiful day. Liverpool's deserved victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final was not only a very sweet victory, but also a very good moment in a very good day. A 6am start. A 4hr train ride to Karlsruhe that passed without tedium. An Indonesian Sportsfest with a lot of Indonesians and only two non-Indonesians (me and a German guy - slightly bizarre feeling). Scrummy Indonesian food. Ragil rocking the basketball court. A leisurely walk around Karlsruhe in the sunshine with Ragil, his sister, Atiek, and his 3yr old nephew. Ice cream in the sunshine and holiday-esque feelings. A run to the station and dismay at missing the train. Beer in the sunshine whilst waiting for the next train. A train to Mannheim. To the Irish pub for the game - Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool - enjoyably watched on the BBC. Train to Frankfurt. Maccie D's and lots of weirdos. Train to Fulda. Bedtime.

How did I guess that this weekend's entry would figure LFC?! Only problem in the Smallshaw/Rimmer/Donbavand households is that they are all Evertonians...!
Fortunately for everyone's combined sanity - I know absolutely nothing about footer, and Bloodaxe probably doesn't realise that they are two different teams!

It was nice to chat via text, whilst having a beer in two different countries on Friday!

Funny story, watched a doco on the Australian attempts to instill a soccer spirit in the nation.

They are happy Australia is in the World Cup and all that blah blah. What was funny was that the Aussie's that are passionate soccer buffs were immigrated British people.

I am not sure if it is because we get Europe's discarded players is the reason we keep losing or if it is because we just have no empathy to the ways of a circular ball.

Not sure...

Nah, Bec. It's not lack of empathy with a circular ball (although I do admit that English rugby league is full of Australians!) it's more to do with the amount of tinnies consumed!!! Only joking!

Verdammt...and I was on the Chelsea's side...it is just because, when I was young I had a collection of packs of cigarettes and beer cans, and among them was also one named Chelsea, and it sounded so cool (better than Marlboro)...and that is the reason why I am it is fan. But honestly, I am really upset.
